TGC Cosplay Critiques
Hi and welcome to the TGC Cosplay Critiques page!
If you are interested in having your cosplay critiqued on a professional level please read everything first and fill out the form below. =D
About TGC Cosplay Critiques
This is a request that I have received from many of my followers asking for advance/ critiques on what they can do to improve their cosplay builds and so I have decided to start TGC Cosplay Critiques! This will be stickily on a professional level and is in no way meant to harm, bad mouth or discourage fellow cosplayers.
Rules
You must be of 18 years or older to submit a cosplay for critique.
No nudity or overly sexulised characters will be accepted.
No Store Bought Costumes!
You must have created 65% or more of your cosplay
Please only submit one cosplay per form (no groups)
Cosplays that have won any type of award are WELCOMED!
Just Prop submissions are also welcomed
Skill Levels
All skill levels are welcome to submit but I do require that at least 65% of your cosplay is hand made by yourself, after all this is a critique to give you feedback on how to improve your craftsmanship level. There are three different levels to choose from (Beginner, Intermediate, Advanced).
Beginner- Someone who is just starting out building their own cosplays and has not received any awards. You created 65% or more of your cosplay yourself.
Intermediate- Someone who has built a few of cosplays, has possible won a Judge’s Award or two. You created 75% or more of your cosplay yourself.
Advanced- Someone who is built many cosplays, possible a processional and possible has had training in crafting fields, has won Best in Show awards, Best Craftsmanship’s, etc. You created 85% or more of your cosplay yourself.
Critique Difficulty
This is for you to decide on how hard you would like your cosplay to be critiqued. All critiques will also be considering your Skill Level that you have chosen. There are three levels of difficulty to choose from (Easy, Medium, Hard).
Easy- For those who only want to hear positive, encouraging, nice things about your cosplay. “Your doing great, keep doing what you are doing!”
Medium- For those who want some information on what to improve on as well as positive feedback on what they are doing well. “The armor looks great, but I see a bit of seam lines, maybe try sanding this part a bit more to help improve but otherwise great job!”
Hard- This is for those who want the full honest truth about their cosplay build from a Cosplay Judges level. This is for those that want to hear everything they can improve on and everything that they are excelling on. “I see what you are trying to do with the wings but it looks a bit off, I would suggest doing … process instead to help with solve the bending issue and improve on this… The paint job you did is the best part of your cosplay… you really excelled at it…”
Submitting Cosplay Portfolio via Google Drive
For submitting in the form you will need to provide a link to a google drive folder containing your cosplay portfolio. Submissions containing a build book will get priority over those who just have folders with images in them. Please include a few photos of you in the entire cosplay in frame from both front and back (this is the same if you are just submitting a prop). If you have any videos as well of you in the cosplay, I highly recommend including them. Please note that any images/ videos/ build book items that you include in your cosplay portfolio may be shown if selected for a critique on the episode, so please only provide what you are ok with sharing to the public!
This will be a series on YouTube
If your cosplay is selected to receive a critique for your cosplay, it will be shared via my YouTube channel [HERE] YouTube.com/c/TiffanyGordonCosplay and an episode of TGC Cosplay Critiques. This is so others can learn from the critique as well and I will also share your social handles in the video and description of that video (if you give permission in the form below). If you are selected, you will have the option to chose if you would like comments on the YouTube video or not.
When will I be notified on if I am selected for a TGC Cosplay Critique?
You should receive a confirmation email once you submit the form that I have received your submission. Depending on the amount of submissions will depend on when and if you are selected (not everyone will be selected for a critique). As this is all being done by one person, me (Tiffany Gordon Cosplay), responses for those who are selected for a critique may take time. As well as for me to make/ edit a video for your critique will take time, so please be patient =]
